The story of a photographer
Growing up, I had a lot of photography influence in my family. My grandfather as well as my father both have always taken an interest in photography, and it quickly became one of my favorite hobbies as well. I started out learning from my dad on an old 35mm film camera. We mostly focused on landscapes, nature, and wildlife (which are still my all time favorite thing to photograph and decorate my walls with!)
I pretty much always had a camera in hand, whether my trusty 35mm or a Polaroid, or even a simple disposable camera. I remember filling my cameras with pictures of our yard and my siblings, asking my mom to go have them developed, and being so excited to hold the physical photographs in my hands.
For my high school graduation, my aunt and uncle gave me a hand-me-down Nikon D70. It was an oldie, but a goodie. I excitedly took it on all of my trips with me, and started practicing taking pictures of friends and family. As time went on, I upgraded to newer cameras, and a few years ago decided to start doing photography as a business on the side. And even though it can be stressful at times, I really do love what I do, and I love being able to capture memories and "pause" time in photographs, so that each family can hold on to that moment in time forever.
About me
I was born and raised here in Peoria, Illinois and the majority of my family are also here. I am the oldest of three children in my family, with one younger sister, and one younger brother. I absolutely love traveling, and would spend my entire life doing so, if only it was possible! I have been married since 2016 to my best friend, David, and we love to go on travel adventures together. (Though he keeps me grounded and reminds me that there apparently IS such a thing as too many vacation days...who knew??)
My husband and I in Alaska on one of our adventures together!
